Hong
Kong Baptist University, Kowloon, China: Pat has
served since 1996 as the North American
representative for President Daniel Chi-wai Tse,
helping the only Christian university in the Peoples
Republic of China build an American constituency to
undergird its on-campus ministries, and engage 47
partner colleges and universities in an international
study-abroad program.
National Foundation for Youth, Clearwater, Florida: Pat
served 1994-1996 as founding president and executive director
of this charitable organization established through the
generosity of former Eckerd Drugs chairman Jack Eckerd and his wife
Ruth.
Baptist
Theological Seminary at Richmond, Virginia: Since 1997 Pat
has served as capital campaign consultant to Development Director
Bob Spinks and President Tom Graves of this
rapidly-growing seminary.
Cornerstone Schools, Birmingham, Alabama: Pat
conducted planning studies and served as pre-campaign
consultant to the board of this private inner-city
school system, 1997-1999.

Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama: Pat
served eight years as vice president for university
relations of this 4,500-student institution during a
time of rapid campus expansion and dynamic change in
public awareness, 1986-1994.
Southern
Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky: From
1965-1986, Pat served on the staff of this national
graduate-professional school, as vice president for
development and public relations, and as executive
director of Southern Seminary Foundation.
Pat
has also held several media communications positions,
including broadcast news reporter and anchor for WGAU, Athens, Georgia, and WBRC, Birmingham, Alabama;
account executive, Forbes McKay
Advertising Agency, Birmingham, Alabama; and
newspaper reporter, Athens Daily
Banner-Herald, Athens, Georgia.
He has been writer,
producer
and on-camera host of numerous educational video
productions for Crescent
Hill Media, Louisville, Kentucky, 1973- , and was
writer and moderator for a series of
satellite-delivered national teleconferences produced

VOLUNTEER
LEADERSHIP
For
ten years, 1984-1994, Pat chaired the international
development committee of the 45-million-member Baptist World Alliance, Washington, DC. He was
national president of the New York-based interfaith
professional organization Religion
Communicators Council (formerly Religious Public
Relations Council), 1990-1992. Earlier, he was
national president of the Baptist
Communicators Association, 1974-1976.
He
and his wife are members of Baptist Church of the
Covenant, an inner-city church which ministers to a
diverse community near downtown Birmingham.
In
local civic life, Pat was selected to participate in Leadership
Louisville, was telecommunications chair for Kentuckiana
Metroversity (a seven-school educational consortium),
and was co-chair of the founding committee for the
Louisville-area Faith Channel, an ecumenical television ministry. He served as president of the
Bluegrass Chapter of Public Relations
Society of America , and is now
accreditation chair of the Alabama chapter. He has
also served on the board of the Birmingham
Broadway Series, Inc.

FAMILY MEMBERS
Pat is
a native of Mobile, Alabama, but spent his teenage
and college years in Georgia. His wife, Zelma
Mullins Pattillo, is a native of Wise, Virginia. She
is a hospice chaplain and the director of spiritual
care for Unity Health Management Services, a joint program of Baptist
Health System and St.Vincent's Hospital / Daughters
of Charity in Birmingham. She earned the BS in math,
MA in Christian Education, and MDiv plus extensive
training in clinical pastoral education. She is a
fellow of the College of Chaplains. To read more about her,

and Zelma's travels have taken them
to all 50 states and to 45 foreign countries.
Their
daughter, Laura G. Pattillo, holds the BA from
Westhampton College of the University of Richmond and
the MA from Louisiana State University in Baton
Rouge, where she teaches English and is a PhD
candidate in Southern Literature. For 1999-2000
she is on special assignment with Actors
Theatre
of
Louisville, the state theater of Kentucky.
Their
son, Stephen R. Pattillo, holds a BA in economics
from Duke University, with additional study at the
University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He
is resident director of the Singapore office of the US-ASEAN
Business Council, an affiliate of the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations, Washington, DC.
